
My name is Jordan Gillis and I graduated in 2007 from the University of Sioux Falls with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and a concentration in Sports Psychology. I am currently attending Capella University online for my Masters in Psychology with a focus on Sports Psychology. Recently Jason and Amy Miller offered me an opportunity to be a personal trainer at Endurance Fitness. I am eager to help anyone interested in setting and reaching short- and long-term physical fitness goals. I work to build a relationship with my clients so that they know that they are not alone in their journey, but that I am their teammate and coach as they push for the highest of goals. I also work with clients who are looking for a new jumpstart in their walk in personal fitness. I help clients to desgin and incorporate new routines and new training ideas. I strive to help to keep people accountable in their goals to work on developing good exercise habits.
My goals in exercising myself or in training another individual are one in the same. In my own workouts, I focus on ridding myself of bad habits and working to replace them with good ones. Not only is exercise essential to a healthy body, but good nutrition and good stress management are also very important. When I sit down with a new client I work to understand each person's walk of life. Jobs, family, relationships, school, money, among many other factors, all contribute to stress. By showing that I care, I help my clients create a routine unique to their needs. No matter where your physical condition is now, with the right focus, the right tools, and the right goals, I will work with you to help get your exercises consistent, give you ideas for healthy eating habits, and encourage positive thoughts to help you change those bad habits and turn them into good ones.
When getting the most out of exercising it takes more than just pushing weight or running on the treadmill. It also takes mental focus and the use of proper techniques. I want you to get the most out of your sessions so that you get positive results quicker, that you avoid injuries, and that you are not wasting your time or money at the gym. I am willing to work with any person of any age, shape, or exercise level. Everyone's goals are important, and if we work together to achieve them, I will give you my best effort so that you have all the help you can get. I want to be a positive resource in your corner, helping and pushing you to go farther and achieve more.
